International standard for an environmental management system, often operated alongside an ISO 50001 EnMS.
Also known asenvironmental management system
ISO 14001 addresses environmental aspects and impacts more broadly than energy. Many AEYS customers run 14001 and 50001 as integrated management systems sharing PDCA, documented information, and internal audit calendars.
Energy is typically a significant environmental aspect; EnMS EnPIs then become operational controls under the EMS.
